Posted - 03 May 2011 : 08:26:09 Should Christians Be Jubilant Over the Death of Osama Bin Laden? I was watching the Phillies as the fans began chanting, "USA-USA...." The sportscasters explained why. I then began watching news coverage to find out what happened. Even MSNBC interrupted their raunchy programming. The news channels showed the crowd outside the White House, at Times Square, and at Ground Zero. These people were obviously jubilant about the death of Osama bin Laden.
Eventually, I went on the internet, to "Christian" forum sites I frequent. There I also found a jubilant attitude among self-professed Christians.
What does the Bible say about being joyful over the death of the wicked?
Proverbs 24.17 states, "Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles."
Ezekiel 18.32: "'For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,' says the Lord GOD. 'Therefore turn and live!'"
Ezekiel 33.11: "Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’"
If God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, why should Christians? Yet, it seems, many are.

Posted - 01 Nov 2011 : 16:29:27 Yes Tom, of course you are right. These figureheads of "evil" that we are told to hate are not the actual cause of the world's problems, and therefore their death does nothing to reduce the "evil" in this world.
More importantly, as you so rightly point out, even if someone is "evil", it is not Messiah's way to kill them. "Overcome evil with good." Leave the judgement to God.
So real believers should never rejoice over anyone's death.

Posted - 01 Nov 2011 : 04:59:38 Excuse me, but this thread is not about government, although I appreciate the comments. They are quite useful. But the issue is, should Christians be jubilant over the death of people like Usama bin Laden. And it has happened again with the death of Moammar Ghadafi. Is this proper for Christians? In my opinion, no way. The philosophy of Christ is love. Being gleeful over the death of anyone doesn't seem loving to me.
Time for breakfast.

Posted - 29 Jul 2011 : 00:22:50 Funny, I had an inkling that something significant would happen on "May Day" this year. It is one of those key dates that gets forgotten in the U.S. because it is not a holiday there. "They" like to pick certain dates for their planned activities.
Of course, I expected some new "disaster", on the scale of a nuclear bomb in the Japan Trench causing a minor earthquake (closer to 6.0 than 9.0) and a massive Tsunami, and providing the cover for the Mossad to sabotage some deactivated nuclear reactors. But that one had already been used.
I was relieved when the big event was nothing more than the alleged death of a man long since departed. I rejoiced that no one had to die for this one.
I would have to wait another two months before it would take the Police 90 minutes to respond to a "lone" gunman a few hundred yards away from their nation's Capital. It reminded me of 9/11/01 all over again. Crazed terrorists on the loose, and the world sits helplessly by while a message is sent to Uranus to find out how to stop them.
If you believe that Police take more than 90 seconds to respond. Just try filling up your car at a gas station and driving off without paying. See how far you get, and this in a scenario where no lives are even at risk. You can tell the cops who catch you, "Wow, I hear they are hiring guys like you in Norway!"

Posted - 09 May 2011 : 16:03:16 #1 Bondservent spoke the Truth. #2 Good question Jay.
The de-facto corporate government of the U.S. is begging; to do to them what they have been doing to other's. As ye judge so shall it be done to you. These thoughts are Eternal Truths of little value to those dead souls living within the MATRIX. Why kill a let's say child rapist? For one, the People can rest assured that he will never kill again. That's Mercy, Yahuweh's Mercy, for him AND Us. Shall one pay IRS tithes to support the destruction and death intended upon Pakistan? But, one might say, "if I quit irs taxes things will get uncomfortable for me and mine". Well...you will then be In The Way following Jesus. Actually he was called Yahushua, or Brother, by his friends. Pogo? "We have met the enemy and he is us". The U government is a corporate piece of paper. Those who believe-support and follow it give life to this image to the RCC system, courtesy of the 14th amendment citizenship. Maybe find what is a PERSON here at ecclesia and answer your own question Jay?
The U.S. government must go down in flames before a resurrected Am-Eri-Can Kingdom can flourish and fill the earth with the knowlege of this I Am...Yahuweh. Let it burn and it is showing anyone even half way awake that it is a complete lie. To flash in...storm troop, head shoot ones enemy, then dump his body weighted down in the ocean is a scene from the Suprano's. Is it not obvious that Obama et. al. are screaming that they are, well, you fill in the blanks. As are any who believe in and support this eternally unlawful action. Resurrect means to; Stand Up. How close are we to this mysterious Third Day?

Posted - 05 May 2011 : 07:59:07 I don't know when he died, or if he died, or if "he" ever existed. No firsthand experience. Point is, what does it matter one way or the other? How does that sort of [mis]information help guide my path today?

Posted - 04 May 2011 : 20:58:54 Considering Usama (his birth name is NOT Osama) bin Laden died 7 years ago from kidney failure, no sheeple (be they of the world shadow rulers or even blind modern religious "Christians") should be even looking at ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN/FOX/PBS/TBS or any other faux "news" by any media means. |

Posted - 03 May 2011 : 09:16:55 Yes. A look in the mirror. What does it say about me if I take pleasure in the demise or misfortune of another.
Another principle comes to mind: don't believe what you don't experience firsthand—and even that is tenuous at best.
